ATLANTA, GA – May 21, 2011 – Respected health science educator Laurie Craig, co-founder of Georgia Massage School – a metro Atlanta massage therapy school and continuing education provider in Suwanee, GA – will receive the 2011 Educator of the Year Award from The American Massage Conference at its national massage therapy convention in Atlanta, GA on May 21, 2011. The American Massage Conference will be held from May 20th – 22nd at the Capitol Conference Center at the Downtown Atlanta Holiday Inn.
At North America’s newest annual exhibition of massage products, business opportunities, and continuing education, The American Massage Conference (AMC) will recognize Laurie Craig’s accomplishments, gained throughout her extensive 25-year career and work as a co-founder of a massage therapy school in Atlanta. Due to her role as a primary investigator studying the efficacy of massage therapy – a study that was sponsored by the National Institutes of Health – to co-founding Georgia Massage School and developing the first college-level anatomy and physiology course for massage therapists in the state of Georgia, Laurie was selected for recognition for her ongoing work as a massage educator and subject matter expert, as well as for her unique and effective teaching style. In 2007, Laurie was the recipient of the prestigious Jerome Perlinski American Massage Therapy Association National Teacher of the Year Award.
“I’m honored to have been chosen to receive the Educator of the Year award from the American Massage Conference,” said Laurie. “For over 25 years I have worked as a health science educator and it has been my privilege to guide students in their learning process. I thank all of my students for their contributions to my life.” For more about Georgia Massage School or for information about beginning a career in massage therapy at the school in Atlanta, visit www.georgiamassageschool.com.
